Story: Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. Although he was officially one of the supreme gods of Mount Olympus, he spent most of his time in his watery domain. Poseidon was the brother to Zeus and Hades...Poseidon had married Nereus's daughter, the sea-nymph Amphitrite.

“Highest of the Gods, lord of the sea, Poseidon of the golden trident, earth-shaker in the swelling brine.”

Kerri Halpern of Madstone Design has always been intrigued by Greek and Roman mythology. She drew much of her inspiration for the Madstone Mythology collection through her years of travel and studying ancient cultures. Recent trips to the Louvre and Metropolitan Museum of Art to view art and sculpture from this period also brought new insight. Each jewelry piece in this collection is designed to embody the essence of the God or Goddess she refers to incorporating symbolism used in art and literature.
