“Talisman Fine, Estate & Custom Jewelry”, was incorporated on February 14, 2008 as a jeweler in Northern California.  The company rebranded and expanded the business focus in 2012, after much planning and preparation, evolving us into Talisman Collection Fine Jewelers, a full-service fine jeweler and American Gem Society (AGS) Guild fine jewelry and timepiece store that includes an in-house GIA Graduate Gemologist, a Master Appraiser, a Master Jeweler, Bench Jeweler, an in-house Custom Jewelry Designer, and more.  Talisman also offers fine jewelry repairs, restoration, refurbishing and sells many brands of fine jewelry, in addition to loose diamonds, rare gemstones, wedding & bridal, and all categories of jewelry.

2024 brought forth a new chapter for Talisman Collection in the the charming town of El Dorado Hills, with founder Andrea Riso selling the corporation to Adriana and Brett Sargent, a dynamic married local couple with passion for both business and beauty.

This transition marks not just a change in ownership, but also a continuation of Talisman Collection's legacy as a beloved and trusted local institution.

Brett's journey to jewelry is a tale of unexpected circles. Once a nuclear physicist turned tech professional, he now finds himself immersed in a world that echoes his childhood.

As a young boy, Brett assisted his mother in her antique business, developing an eye for precious pieces that will serve him well in his new role. Meanwhile, Adriana brings her extensive experience from Silicon Valley startups. Her keen eye for design will also prove invaluable in curating Talisman's collection.

Talisman Collection has long been an anchor store of the El Dorado Hills Town Center.  This cornerstone retailer, having locally and regionally been voted "Best Jeweler" and "Best Jewelry Store" every year since opening the store, also nationally won the title of  "America's Coolest Jewelry Store" from INSTORE Magazine in 2019.

Riso's reputation for excellence, with the highest ethical, professional experience and quality standards, are among the many facets that the Sargents are building upon, infusing their own passion and expertise into the business, evolving the selection and expanding into luxury timepieces and state-of-the-art business practices, as thought-leaders throughout Calfornia. 

“Andrea built such a respected brand, loyal clientele and business reputation, on the whole, because of all the work and love she put into Talisman,” says Brett. “We’re fortunate that she’s still here with us daily.   She’s still the gemologist, the designer, the jeweler, and she’s still one of the people you’ll see when you’re here, sharing our excitement as we bring our own vision forth as the owners of Talisman Collection.”  

The Sargents'  approach to jewelry transcends beyond mere commerce. They understand that each piece of jewelry carries a story, often spanning generations. This sentiment is beautifully illustrated by an encounter with an elderly customer who brought in her cherished Winnie the Pooh watch for a simple band replacement. The woman's reluctance to part with the watch, even briefly, spoke volumes. When Brett and Adriana learned it was a gift from her late husband, a Pearl Harbor survivor, they went above and beyond, presenting her with a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal and music box along with her repaired watch.   “You could tell that she wasn’t ready to give me the story at first — she was tough and was
holding it tight,” Brett says. “But we could tell that this timepiece was so much more than just a watch. When we gave her the stuffed animal and music box, the look on her face when she said to me, ‘You don’t know how much this means to me…’ is worth so much more than I can explain." 

This level of compassion and understanding sets Talisman apart.

Brett and Adriana's backgrounds in business brokerage have equipped them with the acumen to run a successful enterprise, while their hearts remain firmly rooted in personal connections.

As they embark on this adventure, Brett and Adriana are joined by their three children, with their daughter already eyeing a career in jewelry design. It's a family affair that promises to keep Talisman Collection Fine Jewelers sparkling for generations to come, ensuring that the stories encased in those precious mementos and family heirlooms continue to be cherished and shared.

Talisman Collection Fine Jewelers Inc. is a full-service jewelry maker & bricks-and-mortar independent fine jewelry retailer. We are a Guild Jeweler of the American Gem Society (AGS) with an AGS Registered Jeweler, Master Jeweler and Master Appraiser on staff.  We custom design, make and repair jewelry in-house. We have an in-house GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Graduate Gemologist who appraises. We sell loose diamonds of one carat and larger at 25% above wholesale cost, ethically sourced, and we show you the direct wholesale. We will not be undersold. We sell jewelry by local as well as world-famous designer brands in our expansive and delightful showroom.
