Emerald Pear Open Circle Earrings by Meredith Young

Specs: From Brazilian emerald pears spring a bouquet of diamond shapes encircling a black rhodium ring of emeralds.  The sense of geometry from the stones and the negative space contrasts with the organic arrangement of the stones.   Set in 18k yellow gold, these earrings feature 2.15 ctw of white diamonds and 1.6 carats of emeralds.

Story: Meredith was wild about working with a torch and metal from the age of 16. Her grandparents’ home in Green Valley, Arizona spurred an early interest in minerals and the lapidary arts. Making jewelry and small metal sculptures offered moments of intimacy and an emotionally charged physicality with an artistic medium. An artist’s ability to facilitate an immediate connection with the viewer’s body, to confound the spatial expectations of the viewer, and to transgress boundaries were of particular interest to Meredith. 

For nearly a decade, she worked in a corporate business development career and designed and created jewelry at night in her studio until 2016 when she took her passion full time, launching her first collections of fine jewelry and one-of-a-kind works of art.
