Diamond Mirrored Shield Cuff Bracelet by Meredith Young

Specs: Round, kite, and baguette white diamonds adorn the outline of the figure-eight shield emphasizing the negative space in the center, totaling 1.54 carats. This central shape is based on 15th century BC figure eight shields from the Greek islands.  Flanking the center are two rosecut shield diamonds framed by baguettes. Available in 18k white gold and 18k yellow gold. 

Story: Meredith was wild about working with a torch and metal from the age of 16. Her grandparents’ home in Green Valley, Arizona spurred an early interest in minerals and the lapidary arts. Making jewelry and small metal sculptures offered moments of intimacy and an emotionally charged physicality with an artistic medium. An artist’s ability to facilitate an immediate connection with the viewer’s body, to confound the spatial expectations of the viewer, and to transgress boundaries were of particular interest to Meredith. 

For nearly a decade, she worked in a corporate business development career and designed and created jewelry at night in her studio until 2016 when she took her passion full time, launching her first collections of fine jewelry and one-of-a-kind works of art.
