Story: Greek Mythology tells the story of Apollo,  the God of Light.   It was the job  of Apollo to pull the sun across the sky in his 4-horse chariot every day. He has also been referred to as the God of music, poetry, art, medicine, knowledge, plague and archery. Apollo was the son of Zeus (the God of Thunder) and Leto.

“Piercingly he gazes with his eyes from his golden helmet. Bright rays beam dazzlingly from him, his bright locks streaming from the temples of his head gracefully.”

Kerri Halpern of Madstone Design has always been intrigued by Greek and Roman mythology. She drew much of her inspiration for the Madstone Mythology collection through her years of travel and studying ancient cultures. Recent trips to the Louvre and Metropolitan Museum of Art to view art and sculpture from this period also brought new insight. Each jewelry piece in this collection is designed to embody the essence of the God or Goddess she refers to incorporating symbolism used in art and literature.
